Freshwater is a tightly held beach pocket just north of Manly, the birthplace of Australian surfing where Duke Kahanamoku first rode a board, and its moves are shaped by the narrow streets running down to the beach. The housing is a mix of original beach cottages and newer apartments, and the catch is the access: the beach-access streets are narrow, beachfront parking is limited, and a full-size truck often cannot get a clean run to the door, so we scout a loading position and keep the carry as short as the street allows. There is no train on the peninsula, so this is a road move down Pittwater Road like everywhere else, and the mid-beaches timing means an off-peak booking genuinely saves time on the arterial. It is a village-feeling suburb where people tend to stay, so the moves are often careful whole-house jobs, and the planning is about the narrow approach and the loading spot rather than any permit, because there is no removal-truck permit to buy here.
